INCT-Signals: Signal Processing, Communications, Sensing, and Surveillance

We have open positions available for doctoral theses, postdoctoral researchers, and visiting scholars in the fields of signal processing, wireless communications, and experimental radio platforms.

Research topics

  • Integrating sensing and communications
  • Detection/tracking for radar systems
  • Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces
  • Array signal processing and MIMO
  • Machine learning for communications and sensing

Basic requirements:

  • Postdoctoral researcher: Hold a Ph.D. degree in signal processing or wireless communications, with a good publication record in top-quality journals and conferences.
  • Doctoral researcher: Hold an M.Sc. degree in signal processing or wireless communications, with a good publication record in conferences.

Specific requirements:

  • Background in signal processing and wireless communications
  • Excellent level of mathematics (calculus, linear/multilinear algebra)
  • Familiarity with radar, MIMO systems, waveforms, OFDM
  • Hands-on experience with RF circuits is a plus
  • Experience with software-defined radio platforms is a plus

The doctoral scholarships have a duration of 4 years, while the postdoctoral fellowships have a duration of 1-2 years. Exposure to industrial projects may provide additional funding.

The new researchers will be contributing to the 𝘐𝘕𝘊𝘛-𝘚𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘴 project, funded by the Brazilian Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) as part of the National Institutes of Science and Technology (INCT) initiative. Our project also includes funded internships at partner universities in Brazil, Europe, and the US.
